Network Passwords

I am sure I share this same issue with all System Admins out there when it comes to users and passwords. In an attempt to keep your network as secure as possible and ease the issue of users and their passwords one of two things always happen. 1, the users write their passwords and leave them somewhere others can find them or 2, share the password with others for a number of reasons. Then one day this computer arrived at my desk needing some attention! Not only is the username and password clearly written on the case in permanent marker…but it’s the local administrators account. Lucky for me I had to rebuild the machine and that password was no longer the current admin password. Clever users!
